Plane Crash September 4th, 2005
On September 4th, 2005 just after 7:00 p.m. this single engine Cessna 172 made an emergency landing in the field behind Wal-Mart. The Pilot, Harold Beardon of HBTV, stated the engine started cutting in and out and he was unable to make it back to the airport. The plane landed in the field but hit a terrace row and flipped upside down. The pilot of the plane walked away from the crash with only minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Lakeland Community Hospital where he was treated and released. Responding units and agencies include Pumpers 2,3, Rescue 1, Haleyville Police Department, RPS Medic 822, Haleyville Airport Officials and the Federal Aviation Administration.
