BOWLING ALLEY & BEECH GROVE APARTMENT FIRES 6/28/05
Tuesday June 28th was a busy day for Haleyville and surrounding firefighers. Haleyville responded to 3 alarms including 2 working structure fires. The Haleyville Bowling Alley recieved heavy fire damage to one section of the building and smoke damage throughout the building. A unit of Beech Grove Apartments sustained heavy fire damage also. In addition to heavy heat and smoke conditions, firefighters battled temperatures in the mid 90's. Several firefighters were treated on scene for heat exhaustion but none required hospitalization. Responding agencies included: Haleyville Fire/Rescue, Haleyville Police Department, Haleyville Rescue Squad, Regional Paramedical Services, Alabama Power and mutual aid from the following fire departments: Adamsville, Ashridge, Bear Creek, Brilliant, Delmar, Double Springs, Hackleburg, Hamilton, Lynn, Pebble, Sunny Home, Winfield.
